Centuri Sure Shot Igniters, Part 2

In 1974 Centuri redesigned the Sure Shots into the Sure Shot "Dots".
These were simpler to assemble than the previous versions.

Wrap the nichrome wire around the "igniter stick", bend the stick in two.
Stick inside the nozzle and press the dot in place.

Here's the package that came with a three pack of Centuri engines.
You can see the loose nichrome wires. Open the package slowly, if you dropped them, they were gone!
Inside were four nichrome wires, the igniter sticks and dots.

The dots were probably the same parachute shroud line adhesive disks Centuri used at the time.

  1. I remember using the "Sure Shot" igniters as a kid in the 1970's. They were very reliable. I liked them. I wish they were still made!
