TLP Pershing #K046 Build, Part 10, #1 Top Shroud

The three shrouds and centering ring supports make up a well supported assembly.
The top smallest shroud is flush with the top of the interior BT-60 tube. A centering ring is slid in until it butts up against the inside wall of the shroud.
You've got to be careful not to press the ring in too hard. It should contact the shroud wall without bulging out or showing through the skin wall.

On this TLP kit I've noticed all the rings require a bit of sanding for a perfect fit.
After the inside of the ring was sanded for a sliding friction fit over the BT-60, the laser cut outside edge was lightly sanded to the angle of the shroud. This knocks down the square upper edge so it won't show through the card stock shroud.
It won't take much sanding to get a better angle and slightly larger gluing edge.

On this build I used the glue tabs on the shrouds.
TIP: You can cut a shallow notch in the ring to fit over the glue tab inside the shroud. It's small things like this that make smoother outside surfaces.

No glue yet -
The instructions are vague about where and when to glue the shroud.
1. Slide the shroud over the top and flush with the tube end.
2. Slide the ring up from the bottom, turn over the tube.
Be sure the shallow notch you cut in the ring is in line with the glue tab.
3. With the shroud and tube end flush on a table top, tap the ring down into the shroud with a 3/16" diameter or smaller dowel.
Look inside making sure the ring makes contact with all sides of the shroud.
4. Carefully remove the shroud leaving the ring in position and glue the ring to the tube.
