Launch, NEFAR, Bunnell, FL, August 8, 2015

Roger Smith drove us up to the NEFAR monthly launch in Bunnell, Florida.
While getting there we drove through a heavy thunderstorm but things cleared up before arriving at the field. It was hot but overcast skies took some of the edge off.
The Boy Scouts were there and occupied most of the low power pads. I was only able to get three rockets in the air.

The Odd'l Rockets LITTLE GREEN MAN was first up with a Quest B6-4 engine.
Everything I flew today turned into the 10 mph winds and that hurt the altitude.
Estimated altitude would be around 300 feet with no damage under a 12" parachute.

My Estes PATRIOT had a good ride into the wind on an Estes C6-5.
I landed closer to the pads today, not normal for me!

No damage and an estimated altitude of 450'.

Lonnie Buchanon joined us today for his first trip to the Bunnell site.
Here's the newly finished, scratch built Saturn 1B. Beautiful work on a sport scale model. The detail in the printed wraps really set it off.

Launch with a single C6-5 was followed by applause when the parachute opened. No damage at recovery.

My third and final launch of the day was the maiden flight of the upscaled Estes TEROS.
This one was built on the blog and used the Dollar Tree store champagne flute nose cone.

A D12-5 engine got it to 525' with recovery under an 18" Odd'l parachute. No damage.
